Chip Shots September 2008

We hope that everyone is excited for member guest this year. The course will be in great shape. Even the rough will perk up if we can manage a few rain events between now and then. We are always excited this time of year because once member guest is over we then focus our attention on Fall renovations. Highlights of this year's renovation will be overseeding the approaches to bentgrass, establishing a cool season primary cut around the fairways and improving selected rough areas at both courses. We strive to accomplish this operation with as little disruption as possible. There will be more to come on these topic in the October Chipshots.

Green aeration will be the Tuesday September 9 and 10 at Hobbit's and September 22 and 23 at Fairway Hills. Two weeks to three weeks is the norm for recovery. Nine holes will be closed during the operation each day, but will reopen by 2:00 each day. As always, I hope you are enjoying your experience at Hobbit's Glen and Fairway Hills.
